How to prepare for IELTS

IELTS stands for the International English Language Testing System Examination. It's used to check the proficiency in fundamentals of English Language evaluation Regarding Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing.

The evaluation results are required if you apply for a visa or use for higher research in overseas nations. Test scores are valid for two Years.

Listening.

This is a really basic test. It mostly entails, hearing the dialogue which entails 2--3 individuals.

You'll be given time to go the questions until you listen.

You'll be provided a headset and the records will be performed.

Questions will be requested based on this. Be aware that the record is going to be performed just once.

In the conclusion of the evaluation, you'll have 10 minutes to move your answers to the answer sheet in pencil.

You will write your answers in lower case or capital letters. Be certain that the spellings are right. Incorrect spellings are thought to be erroneous.

Reading.

Just glimpse the questions before reading the paragraph and keep the relative keyword phrases in mind.

Then read the paragraph. Don't become lost in it. Get the gist of it.

Should you happen across the keywords you read in queries, browse the paragraph clearly and then answer the query.

If any doubts, then just keep it temporarily marked from the question paper and proceed.

Writing.

Write your answers in pen or pencil. You may write entirely in capital letters if you want.

You may make notes on the question paper, but nothing you write on the question paper will be marked.

Pay attention to the Number of words required for each job; you will lose marks if You Don't compose at least 150 words for Task 1 and at least 250 words for Task two

Don't replicate ideas using keywords

Keep to the subject; don't write about unrelated topics

Speaking.

Lastly, the speaking test has been 3 days before the real test.

Present yourself good with basic manners. 'Thank You’, ‘Pardon me' if you don't understand the queries, might I sit etc..

Don't replicate the words. Attempt to use the synonyms for the exact same instead, should you want to use the same word.

They may ask about your passions, your dreams, household, house, jewelry, favorite food/game/place or anything generally.

Also, there will be a topic where you will be given 1 minute to think and two - minutes to speak. Do prepare sample issues beforehand.

Finally, you'll receive the score through SMS and email following weekly. 

You'll also get a comprehensive report via post. Don't lose it as it will be utilized in your further visa application procedure.


If you are not happy with the results, you can take the test again. There are no restrictions to retake the exam any number of times.
